Alpather Lake
This lake is located at the foot of the twin 4511 meter
Apharwat peaks which is 13 kms away from Gulmarg. This lake
is completely frozen from January starting to mid-June and
later also you can see the lumps of ice floating on the
surface of the water. For horse riding aficionados, The
excursion tour of Alpather Lake makes an exciting day, which
starts early morning and ends late evening.
The Ningli Nallah
This pretty mountain stream which comes from the
Alpather Lake is located 8 kms from Gulmarg. Flowing
from the melting snow and ice on Apharwat, the stream
continues flows down the valley below to join the Jhelum
River near Sopur. The whole valley is carpeted with
grass and it is an ideal place for picnic. During summer
time, one can come here to share the camp side with
Gujars – people belongs to tribal caste who never stays
at one place.
Shrine Of Baba Reshi / Ziarat Of Baba Reshi
The shrine was built on the slopes below Gulmarg and you
can reach shrine either from Gulmarg or Tangmarg. The
Ziarat or a tomb was built on the site where a Muslim
saint was died in 1480. The shrine has been visited by
the thousands of devotees every year regardless of the
religion and customs they belongs too.

Sonmarg City
Sonmarg situated at the altitude of 2740 meters above sea
level which is 80 kms away from Gulmarg. Sonmarg is also
known as Meadows of Gold because the yellow flower i.e.
crocus is in full bloom during the spring season. It

beyond human imagination which no one can express or bind in
words.
Pahalgam City
Pahalgam is located in the western part of the Jammu and
Kashmir state at an altitude of 2130 meters above sea level
and it is 150 kms far from Gulmarg and takes 4 hrs drive
from Pahalgam to Gulmarg. It is an ideal place for adventure
sports lovers as it offers wonderful treks for trekking,
slopes for skiing, mountaineering and camping sites. During
winder season specially from December to February, it
experience heavy rainfall.
Srinagar City
Srinagar is a summer capital of India state Jammu and
Kashmir which is located 60 kms away from Gulmarg. Srinagar
offers the spectacular view of the lovely lakes and the
houseboat on them which is known as chin Kara. Srinagar is
would famous for its dry food and the traditional handicraft
items. The great Mughal emperor Jahangir express the immense

How to Reach Gulmarg
By Road : Gulmarg is well
connected by Jammu and Kashmir. Anyone can reach Gulmarg
easily but for that you should have all India permit for
local vehicle.
By Train : the nearest railway
station is Jammu from Jammu you can easily reach Gulmarg.
By Air : Gulmarg is in
Baramula District and is 56-kms from Srinagar District. The
nearest Airport from here is situated in Badgam District,
which is well connected with all the major cities of the
country.
